All of our pieces are designed and made in our own atelier. Our mission is to create beautiful and timeless pieces using quality textiles we source as sustainably and ethically as possible. We would like to encourage everyone to engage in a conversation with us if they are in need of advice.
Baldakijn was founded in 2024 by Keanu Goossens. As an avid lover of vintage furniture, antiques and interior design, it is our goal to provide our customers with the same feeling of joy and fascination for one-of-a-kind pieces. Every piece is lovingly designed and made in our atelier. As we work with a limited, and often vintage, stock of fabric, each piece is unique. As we believe it is important to work with sustainable and ethically sourced materials, we hand select every textile with care.
Baldakijn believes that the critical sourcing of its fabrics is one of our most important tasks as a small-scale and slow-fashion business. As such, our team aims to mix and match second-hand, antique or dead-stock materials with designer and high-quality fabrics. While we do not shy away from using newly produced fabrics, we find it important to engage in a conversation about sustainability and ethical production with our suppliers. As the use of quality materials is the corner-stone of our business, we take pride in our transparency.
